Director John Waters Talks About Trying to Get Funding and Puppetshows
Filmmaker John Waters participated in a lengthy interview with Scion AV All Purpose Show host Prince Paul during a private conference that Scion held in Marfa, Texas. During the second installment, legendary director Waters explains what repulses him, how he’s spreading his filth empire beyond Baltimore (the city where all of his films are set), and if its even possible to get funding for the type of movies he makes these days (maybe not!). He also tells some stories about his early days—not just making films like Mondo Trasho, but his unedited underground films to his upsetting time as a puppeteer at children’s birthday parties.
