Black Dave teams with Scion AV for the new song “Respect the Intellect,” the first taste from his upcoming release, Scion AV Presents: Skate Life EP. Currently ruling the streets of New York City, Black Dave is a rapper, pro skater, video director and budding culture media icon with over 2 million collective views on YouTube. Scion AV Presents: Skate Life EP collects five new tracks that will be available for free download on February 3, 2015.
Coming off the success of previous collections Stay Black and Black Bart, this new EP shows Black Dave’s progression as an MC. Handling production on this sample-free affair is Dave’s longtime collaborator Shy Guy, as well as veteran beatmaking team Sean C & LV.
“Respect the Intellect” is pure NYC hip-hop, a jazzy head-nodder that’s in and out in less than three minutes. It’s a great preview of the diverse sounds found on Scion AV Presents: Skate Life EP. A music video from Black Dave and Scion AV will also be coming your way soon.
