Scion AV All Purpose Show host Prince Paul conducted an in-depth interview with Cheech Marin at the Scion Music(less) Music Conference in Los Angeles. In it the comedy legend detailed his history in the business and how comedy and music have always been intertwined for him.
During this installment, Marin explains the transition of Cheech & Chong from touring and recording to making movies. Though there were basically no expectations for them to make it in this new medium, they became global hits. He also talks about the duo’s first breakup and how that led him to become a music video star and develop his solo film career. Along the way he talks about the hard times he and Chong went through when they first got to Los Angeles and the lucky breaks that allowed them to eat, literally.
